Robert Welch, one of the most respected British designers of the 20th century, believed that everyone should be able to use beautifully designed products in everyday life. In 1955 he established his own company specialising in stainless steel product design. His most important commissions are in collections throughout the world, from the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum in London, to the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Robert Welch Designs
Robert’s son Rupert and daughter Alice have been running the company for the last two decades. Under their direction, a talented team of in-house designers continues to create award-winning designs. Confirmation that Robert’s original beliefs are still at the forefront of the modern company all these years later.
Over 60 years of award-winning British design
Company founder Robert Welch left the Royal College of Art in 1955 and set up a workshop in the beautiful Cotswold town of Chipping Campden. Since then, every Robert Welch product has been designed there. Robert Welch’s passion to create beautiful, functional, timeless products remains rooted in the company’s design ethos, we call this ‘Designing the Robert Welch Way’
