UKCA/CE Marked Beer Glasses for hospitality & the home
The UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessment) mark is the new UK capacity verification mark and is mandatory by law for glasses that are being used in licenced establishments to sell by measurements. This ensures the measure being served complies with UK directives.
As the UK has now left the EU, the capacity verification mark will change from a CE mark to a UKCA mark for the UK market, both marks mean the same thing.
All new production of capacity verified glasses will have a UKCA mark from the 1 Jan 21. As current stocks of the old CE Marked products are exhausted, they will be substituted with the new UKCA versions, the testing and verification regime remains the same. CE marked glassware can continue to be used in the UK marketplace for the life of the product.
