BORMIOLI ROCCO

leading the way with state-of-the-art glassware
Bormioli Rocco’s first glassware factory dates back to 1825, but historians say the origins of Bormioli Rocco glass can be traced to the Middle Ages. With stemware, tumblers, beer glasses and iconic food storage jars gracing tables around the world, quality is the cornerstone of the foundation supporting the Bormioli Rocco brand. The manufacturing facilities utilise state of the art technology and economically source only the best raw materials. From the finest sand imported from Germany to organic glazes used to colour glass, all are brought together in products influenced by exhaustive design research. Thanks to continuing investment in technology, research and design, Bormioli Rocco has become one of the leading glass manufacturers in the world.
STARGLASS - Lead free Crystal glass (Dir. Cee 69/4939) in the exclusive "Star Glass" composition. Is characterized by the:
  • Purity of the raw material
  • Clarity and Brightness of the products
"Star Glass" does not alter the colour, smell or taste of the wine (see chart). Shapes moulded with expertise; Star Glass guarantees high end beautiful recyclable products.
XLT TREATMENT - The stem is actually the most likely breaking point of wine glasses and the intensive use conditions that are typical of the catering industry contribute to this risk. Internal laboratory tests have shown that even the smallest abrasions can weaken the stem. Even in the case of low intensity impact, the risk of breakage is up to four times greater than for stems without abrasions. XLT is an exclusive and innovative technology developed by Bormioli Rocco to reinforce stem resistance against the most frequent causes of breakage such as washing, twisting and daily use. XLT is an invisible shield that protects the stem from abrasions, prolonging the useful life of stem even after many washing cycles.
Pulled Stem - Pulled stemware is obtained through a particular hot pulling process of the stem. This technology allows to manufacture products whose shapes are elegant and refined. Bormioli Rocco pulled stemware is absolutely functional even for everyday use.
Reduced Thickness - Products with fine finishes characterized by thin rims.
Laser Cutting - A very uniform and linear rim is achieved by using a laser beam (rim cutting). This technology improves the quality of the products and are specifically designed to meet the needs of professionals and high-quality of wine tasting.
